Austin Based Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Austin is coming together to help support the victims of Hurricane Harvey in an amazing variety of ways. I'm most active on Instagram so that's where I've been seeing posts about the various efforts going on around Austin. Below is a list of the ones that I've seen so far. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to have your effort added to the list.

Current Efforts

  • Kung Fu Saloon (Downton and Rock Rose) - They are accepting a variety of needed items to donate to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort.
  • Black Sheep Lodge - They are gathering supplies that will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort.
  • JW Marriott - They are hosting a fashion show with Fashion X on September 8 at 7pm. Every dollar donated to Texas disaster relief efforts.
  • Art for the People Gallery - Starting September 1 they will be selling $10 raffle tickets with proceeds going to Austin Pets Alive and the Central Texas Food Bank. 60+ local artists have donated raffle prizes.
  • Austin Pets Alive - They are accepting monetary and supplies donations in order to help manage the influx of animals being relocated from the Houston area.
  • The Long Center - They are inviting Houston area evacuees to be their guests at an upcoming show and are currently partnering with local relief efforts as a donation drop-off in the coming days.
  • Opa - They are accepting dry good donations for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts on behalf of the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
  • SprATX - They are accepting donations of needed items at their 2400 E. Cesar Chavez location and will arrange for them to be transported as they come in.
  • Austin Humane - They are dealing with an influx of Houston animals and as a result they are running an adoption special starting Saturday, Sept. 2. Free adoption for all cats and dogs over 1 year old.
  • Austin to Houston - This is a Facebook group that is organizing efforts of Austinites to provide relief to people in Houston.
  • Gourdough's - From Sept. 1 through Sept. 8 they are donating 50% of the proceeds from the Heavy Harvey donut to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
  • Waterloo Ice House Austin - They are raffling off a pair of three day passes to weekend 1 of the 2017 ACL Festival. 100% of the proceeds go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
  • Ride Austin - You can round up your fare to benefit the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Through the end of September Ride Austin matches all round up donations.
  • Akki Brathwaite - 50% of profit on art sales at https://byakki.threadless.com goes toward Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund until September 30. 
  • Thai Fresh - On Tuesday September 5 they will donate 100% of their proceeds to help people affected by Hurricane Harvey. They will also match any donations collected on site that day.
  • Voodoo Doughnut Austin - For the month of September, proceeds from The Cinnamon Roll will be donated to Austin Pets Alive (APA) to help with hurricane relief. APA is a no kill shelter that has been inundated with homeless pets as a result of the Hurricane.
  • E&B Creative - They are selling specially designed Texas Strong coffee mugs with 100% of the proceeds going to the Austin Pets Alive Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

Past Efforts

  • Harvey Relief Auction - Local businesses have donated a variety of items that are being auctioned off on Instagram between September 1 and September 3. 100% of proceeds go to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
  • Austin Java - They are hosting a comedy benefit at their Barton Springs location from 5pm-9pm this Friday, September 1. Proceeds from the show fee will go to relief efforts and donation of needed items are being accepted.
  • Collide Austin - A portion of all their proceeds until Sunday, September 3 will go to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
  • HOPE Outdoor Gallery - They are teaming up with Ninja Buses, Native Hostel and Vince Young Foundation to help Hurricane Harvey victims. Through Sunday, Sept. 3 they are accepting donations that can be dropped off at Native Hostel (807 E.  4th St. 78702).
  • Gravelt00th - They are playing a free show on Friday, Sept. 1 at St. Elmo Brewing where a portion from Rain Helles beer purchases will go to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. 
  • Cherry Cola Dog - 50% of the merchandise sales at their Art Will Save Us event on Saturday, September 2 will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
  • J Blacks Austin - All day long Friday, Sept. 1 they are donating all sales of partners products to JJ Watt's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Live music starts at 4pm.
  • Summer Moon Coffee - All 9 Summer Moon locations will donate 25% of sales on Labor Day to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
  • Yeti Flagship - On Friday, Sept. 1 100% of the sales at Yeti.com and the Yeti Flagship store on South Congress to Hurricane Harvey relief organizations.
  • Blue Cat Cafe - 100% of the proceeds from their Kitty Yoga on Sunday, Sept. 3 will be donated to Houston Relief Fund and Austin Pets Alive. They are also accepting donations of cat and dog food, litter, towels and metal bowls for Austin Pets Alive.
  • South Congress Books - 10% of all proceeds from Sept. 2-4 will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief.
  • Shady Grove - On Labor Day weekend Shady Grove will be selling Texas Strong tees for $10 with 100% of proceeds going to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
